It was a bad day in the field for both baby teams, Real Madrid Castilla and Barcelona B as they both lost out comfortably on their away trips.

Barcelona B lost out to Sporting Gijon 5-2 despite taking an early lead via Rafinha. Gijon struck five times in between the two Barca B goals. The goal scorers were Jara 40, Bilic 44 , Sangoy 66, Trejo 84 and Rodriguez 87. Javi Espinosa scored a late consolation for Baby Blaugrana whose defensive woes this season sees no end.

Thievy and Nauzet scored to down Real Madrid Castilla 2-0 on their trip to Las Palmas as the hosts continue their efforts for a play off position where as Castilla hope to pick up form in their remaining games in order to avoid a relegation dogfight come the end of the season. Las Palmas now find themselves in fifth position whereas Castilla could be as far as only two points away from the relegation zone come the end of the match day if Racing Santander wins its game over the weekend.

Girona ran out 3-1 winners away at Recreativo and are now sitting pretty on 51 points and third position. The Catalans are only one point behind Almeria who currently occupy the second automatic promotion spot although they have a game in hand. The goal scorers for Girona were Richy, Moral and Jandro where as Recre's lone goal was scored by Vega.
